Hello!
The room I am renting out is comfortable, well-kept, and private with shared facilities and mini-chef's kitchen in a loft-like live/work writer's apartment in a classic prewar Manhattan walkup situated amid the vibrant UWS Morningside Heights neighborhood near Central Park. The room has been described by previous guests as “Zen Victorian,” with its relaxing deep-blue walls, soothing natural light, and treetop-and-sunset view.
I am a work-at-home writer/editor who travels often, so the ideal roommate would either be a dedicated graduate student, writer, or gainfully employed professional (even a flight attendant, because I tend to travel, too) who also enjoys peaceful enjoyment at home, and is quiet, clean, trustworthy, courteous, organized around the house, and mindful that we are sharing an apartment and at least one of us works at home, which requires peace, orderliness, and solitude. Must be at least 21 years of age with valid ID.
Mutual respect of each other and the shared and individual spaces is a must. No hoarding, trashing of, or extra furniture storage (including TVs) allowed in the rented room or other areas (it's offered as a furnished room and apartment after all). No pets, no drugs, no smoking (which includes no vaping), no toxic behavior or overnight guests. I have full dresser space and partial closet space available. Roommate would have to supply their own bedding and shower supplies (sheets, towels, etc), but the queen-sized bed is part of the package.
The roommate offered the rental will be fully vetted and required to sign a detailed, legally binding roommate agreement listing the terms, move in/move out dates, guest policy, house rules, etc. International students or professionals welcome to apply. Will ask for first/last months rent + key/damage deposit. Longer terms possibly available if we are a good match and for good, respectable roommate behavior.
