About the room: The room is 11.5’ x 16’ and comes furnished with a full-sized bed and pillow-top mattress, desk, dresser, nightstand, clothing rack, full length mirror and still plenty of room for additional furniture. There is one North facing window, a closet, and all utilities (electricity, gas, internet) are included in the $1,600 a month price.
About the apartment:
The apartment is a beautiful and cozy 2 bedroom apartment on the second floor of a classic Brooklyn apartment building. There is a cozy living room with exposed brick walls, beautiful furnishings, plants, art, and a movie projector. There is one bathroom and a sunny eat-in kitchen with a table and full-sized refrigerator. Bonus: access to our 6-story building’s roof with amazing views of downtown Brooklyn and Manhattan!
About the neighborhood:
We are a 5-minute walk to the A/C Nostrand Ave. subway stop and B25 bus, and a 12-minute walk to the #3 Nostrand Ave. subway stop. Additionally, we are a 2 min walk from the B65 bus, a 10 minute walk to the B43, and a 7-minute walk to the B45 bus. There is a laundromat half a block up and a plethora of local shops including grocery stores, hardware stores, dollar stores, pharmacies, etc. There are also plenty of food and entertainment options around including Caribbean cuisine, Chinese take-out, pizza, Mexican food, bodegas on every corner, and excellent cafés and bars all within walking distance.
About me:
A late-30s professional woman who works from home and shares the space with a sweet 3-year old pup who is very chill and friendly. I keep a very clean and tidy home and any potential housemate must be on the same page about cleanliness and chores.
About you:
You are a responsible, clean, and considerate person who also appreciates a quiet, clean, and respectful home environment and can pay rent on time every month. This is a perfect arrangement for a young professional or grad student new to the city and looking for a fully furnished space with all the amenities of a cozy home while they settle into the city and their new career or program.
About the $$$:
The room is $1,600 per month and includes all bills (electric, gas, and internet). Move-in date is October 1st and does NOT require a credit check, just proof of income, first month’s rent, and one month’s rent as security deposit which you will get back upon your departure so long as the room and its furnishings are in the condition that they were in when you moved in. Looking for someone able to commit to a minimum 6-month stay with the possibility of extending it an additional 3 or 6 months if we're a good fit.
