This is a 150+ year old plane made by H. Cady and given to his friend, Rancher Cartwright for use on his ranch in Weatherby, Nebraska.
HC initial on the side. Impressive heft...a reminder that historic tools were often quite heavy prior to the invention of strong, lighter materials.
