All original, collector’s grade 1966 Fender Jaguar in original Candy Apple Red with matching headstock — this is the rare transitional era with dots and binding. This is the best playing vintage Jaguar I’ve tried, and it’s fully dialed in spite of it retaining all its original parts — even down to the original factory shims on the neck and in the heel pocket. I bought this from the original owner, who had never pulled the neck and never had the guitar set up since buying it new from Fender. The neck stamp is Feb ‘66, the pots date to the 12th week of ‘66, like many custom color 60’s Fender the neck plate doesn’t line up precisely with the rest of the guitar (1967). The neck fits super snugly in its pocket having never been removed before yesterday, when it had a full and thorough setup. Comes with the original factory case. This is one of the good ones. It’s actually a simply incredible Jaguar. And the Candy Apple Red is simply brilliant in person — I used to have a ‘64 CAR Jazzmaster and this Jaguar’s finish is more radiant, more lush. Interestingly, being a transition era, it has an early Pre-CBS style black bottom pickup in the neck position, and a grey bottom in the bridge position. Both pickups sound amazing.
To be clear, I am not looking for trades. I’m asking 8k firm. Please feel free to reach out for any pics of the internals, which are remarkably cherry. Not interested in offers lower than 8k — this is the price.
