I assembled this guitar from the finest parts available. The Fender licensed Warmoth Swamp Ash body was specifically chosen for its light weight, wonderful wood grain and character. Warmoth did an amazing job with the tea colored sunburst finish - it is rich and warm. The lightweight body is easy on the back and (contrary to popular and debunked guitar myths) provides excellent sustain.
The modern C shaped neck amazingly fast and easy to play - the satin finish cannot be beat for touch sensitivity and utility. The stainless steel frets were finished like glass at the Warmoth factory and then I hand rounded and shaped the ends of the frets and set up the instrument with 9s. I modified the standard Warmoth fretboard to have slightly rounded edges for a more vintage feel (similar to modern American Deluxe Stratocaster neck).
The guitar weighs in around 8 lbs.
This guitar outclasses every Strat I've ever owned including a Fender Custom Shop. From the rich sunburst finish to the stainless steel polished frets to the (out of production) Evans pickups and Wilkinson locking bridge, this guitar is a one-of-a-kind Strat killer.
