1966 Fender Coronado II vintage sunburst. First year for Fender under CBS. Checkerboard binding. Zero finish checking. Would be dead mint but for (a) a switched-out switch tip and (b) a small, weird bit of scarring on the back of the bass side horn. (It looks as though a previous owner spilled something on it that began to eat through the finish, but wiped it off before it did major damage. A few tiny holes down to the wood. See the photo.) OHSC.
Plays beautifully up and down the neck. My tech set it up, and we both believe the frets are original. If they are, however, it’s barely been played in 59 years.
Take a look on Reverb or Gbase and you’ll see what prices and condition are like and why this is a great deal. I don’t need to sell it. I’m just putting it up here for someone who might be interested, and to fund another purchase.
