Part of an estate resolution of a collector. Nice, clean well cared for condition as shown. All lettering is intact, with exception to the 90Mhz the front half of the number 9 is not printed (see photos) In my opinion to be a beautiful piece of audio history.
TESTED:
Again this tuner was an Estate item of a collector, there was a post it note on the top that said clean or replace the Opto-Couplers. I attached a simple dipole fm antenna and received many stations even though I'm in a fringe area for FM reception. The sound was as expected for a such a high end vintage classic unit. The scope functioned nicely as shown in the video. Sold as-is due to age for parts or restoration if needed.
The Marantz 10B's opto-couplers are a common point of failure, often needing replacement due to age-related degradation. These photocell switches, actuated by NE2 neon bulbs, can fade or fail, impacting stereo and mono reception, as well as muting functions. Fortunately, there are solutions, including replacement with newly built opto-couplers or rebuilding the existing ones.
