Here we have a vintage H Gerstner & Sons oak machinists chest, Model 42, which has been completely restored. All of the following components are original to the chest: the handle, the frame and mirror, the stop hinges, all the corner hardware, the snap locks, the lock , the plunger pins, the drawer pulls, the finger pull, the front lid pins, the front lid plates, the front lid hinges, and the label. Only the green felt has been replaced. The key was made by H Gerstner using an original A50M21 key as a guide, and testing it in an original A50M21 lock. The chest measures 20" wide, 15 3/4" tall, and 9 3/8" deep. H. Gerstner & Sons is widely considered to make the finest wooden machinists chests. Now is your chance to own one, and it looks like the day it left the factory in Dayton.
