I just found this in my mother's attic, just in time for the winter season!
Genuine, Old School, Flexible Flyer Sled. All Wood (Birch) and Metal Construction. Red Powder Coated Steel Runners.
In Excellent, working condition. This is the Largest size they built at the time; 56 inches long x 22 inches wide.
They DO NOT make them like this anymore!!!
The "NEW" models use inferior, cheap, wood that cracks and splits under stress and they are put together using inferior, aluminum rivets that corrode, and fall off after a few uses.
This has STEEL BOLTS and SOLID REAL BIRCH WOOD!
These were built to last a lifetime, not break and crack as so many of the newer models built today do. This is an example of American craftsmanship that does not exist anymore. A real piece of Nostalgic Americana!
