My husband and I are traveling this fall (studying Spanish and I am doing a book tour) from October-December. We would love to sublet our furnished railroad apartment in Ridgewood, Queens for the duration of our travel, and would like to sublease to someone at the rent we pay for 3 months until our return.

This is not a long-term housing listing; it is a furnished apartment that we love very much and will be coming back to when we're done traveling. This might be ideal for students, medical interns (near Wyckoff Heights hospital), someone landing in the city and finding their footing, a researcher or journalist visiting, an actor working on a show during this time, someone leaving a partner and finding a new spot, an academic here for a semester or something....we will see!

Please reach out here or email through Craiglist if you're interested or have questions: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfyH8uhA7VwBqIvNkNp2DSgP1PZyh6bBY7EByqYKrgUkEg5kg/viewform?usp=header

The apartment:
- By the Seneca M (7 min walk) and Myrtle-Wyckoff L (15 min walk), and several bus lines
- Corner apartment lots of windows
- Third floor walkup, closest laundromat is half a block away
- Short walk to Grover Cleveland Park, many cafes, Al Yemeni produce market, big (more expensive) grocery store two blocks away
- Railroad format -- there are two bedrooms, but you have to walk through the smaller one to get to the larger one. The first bedroom has a futon bed that can also be a couch, the second has a queen bed.
- We are leaving all furniture in the apartment, but we'll clear out space so you have access to dressers/closet/bathroom storage etc.
- We'll pay utilities to keep things simple while we're gone

We have our landlord's verbal permission to sublease, but there will not be a formal sublease, and we will be liable for whatever occurs in the apartment while we are away. Because of this, we're looking for someone responsible and dependable. Ideally, you are two students, a couple, or two mature individuals who are okay with sharing a railroad apartment. If you're solo and can afford it on your own that's obviously fine too. We need people who have the sense to not leave the door open or let strangers in the building, turn the gas off when they leave the house, not start fires, etc. If that sounds like you, please reach out! If you're interested in subletting but only need 2/3 months, feel free to reach out as well.
