Picker/Packer/Stock Clerk for Hardware Store
As a hardware warehouse associate, your primary responsibility will be to assist in the overall operations of the warehouse, including receiving, storing, organizing, and distributing hardware products. You will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient functioning of the warehouse and maintaining accurate inventory records. Some of your specific duties and responsibilities may include:
1. Receiving and Inspecting Merchandise:
- Receive incoming shipments of hardware products and verify their accuracy against purchase orders.
- Inspect products for any damages or discrepancies and report any issues to the supervisor.
- Label and tag received items and ensure they are stored in the appropriate location.
2. Inventory Management:
- Organize and maintain the warehouse by ensuring that products are properly shelved, labeled, and stored.
- Perform regular inventory counts to ensure accuracy and reconcile any discrepancies.
- Rotate stock and monitor expiration dates or product quality, removing any damaged or expired items.
3. Order Fulfillment:
- Pick and pack customer orders accurately and efficiently, ensuring that the correct products and quantities are selected.
- Prepare orders for shipment, including packaging, labeling, and completing relevant paperwork.
- Collaborate with the shipping department to coordinate timely and accurate deliveries.
4. Equipment Operation and Maintenance:
- Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, and hand trucks safely and proficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance and inspections on equipment, reporting any malfunctions or issues to the supervisor.
- Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to prevent accidents or injuries.
5. Collaboration and Communication:
- Coordinate with other warehouse associates and departments to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks.
- Communicate any inventory shortages, damages, or other issues to the appropriate personnel.
- Assist in resolving customer inquiries or complaints related to warehouse operations.
6. Adherence to Safety and Security Policies:
- Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to maintain a safe working environment.
- Properly handle hazardous materials and adhere to all regulations and procedures.
- Ensure the security of the warehouse by monitoring access, preventing theft, and reporting any suspicious activities.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics role is preferred.
- Strong organizational and time management skills.
- Ability to lift heavy objects and perform physical tasks.
- Familiarity with inventory management systems and basic computer skills.
- Knowledge of hardware products and their categories is a plus.
- Forklift certification or the ability to obtain one is desirable.

Physical Demands:
• Ability to lift and move objects that weighs up to 50lbs, regularly. Occasionally lift and move objects that are more than 50lbs.
• Ability to work on your feet for long periods of time. Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel or crouch regularly.
• Ability to navigate stairs while carrying product.
