This all-solid Indian rosewood GC-3D YAMAHA classical guitar from 1971 signed by Takehide Kaneko in Excellent condition. The fact that this is one of the signed Yamaha's makes this guitar rare and very collectible
GC-3D was only produced from 1971 to 1973. At the time, Yamaha invited Eduardo Ferrer, who had been assigned to produce one of Jose Ramirez's models. Under his guidance the Grand Concert series was developed. Grand Concert guitars were hand-made in the golden age of Yamaha classical guitars. Very few were signed by the luthier and even fewer by Kaneko, who was one of the greatest Japanese luthiers.
The wood material used for the GC-3D is of high grade Ezo spruce, which is no longer available today.
Due to the very high grade of the wood and the excellent finish job, the tone of the GC-3D is at the highest level of Japanese classical guitars.
There are some very minor dings, but overall it is in excellent condition. It is difficult to find one in such excellent condition even in Japan. The neck, the frets and the fretboard are in excellent condition. There is no belly bulge or problems with adhesion. The condition, year and signature makes this a rare highly collective guitar.
