First I want to state that If you are a beginner I would not workout on your own for several reasons:
1. You can get serious injuries like a sprain, strain, stress fracture and other injuries and these injuries can take from 1-12 months to heal properly delaying your fitness goals, some injuries will never heal properly or will leave scar tissue and will re injure even with light intensity exercise again and again, it's better to avoid injuries at all costs.
2. Not knowing how to work out properly.
3. What equipment to use and what weight to use to help you achieve your goals.
4. How many sets and reps to do and what exercises to do or not to do.
5. Because some exercises are high risk exercises and will actually get you injured as well as 50% of machines at the gym are worthless and will get you injured!
6. I would recommend to hire a trainer for the first few weeks at least so that you know what you are doing.
7. For those people who think they know what they are doing and are working out on your own and you do not see any results after 3 weeks of working out, that means you are doing something wrong and you need an experienced trainer to help you.
8. For those who are intermediate or advanced level you can still learn more information to help you achieve perfection in your fitness goals.
