Physician Assistant – Orthopedic Surgery
Salary $85 - $90/hr
SCHEDULE: Flex schedule – (3) 12-hour shifts per week
LOCATION: Flushing, NY
Responsibilities
Assist in orthopedic surgical procedures
Perform diagnostic ultrasounds and ultrasound-guided injections
Conduct initial and follow-up patient evaluations independently or alongside the physician
Perform joint aspirations and injections
Participate in daily morning rounds
Document hospital encounter notes in EMR
Apply casting and splinting
Order and monitor physical and occupational therapy services
Respond to patient calls to support continuity of care
Write post-operative orders and dictate discharge summaries
Order and interpret X-rays, MRIs, and CT scans
Educate patients and families on diagnoses, treatment plans, and prevention strategies
Perform wound closures
Obtain and maintain hospital privileges where required
Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required
Graduate of an accredited Physician Assistant program
Active NYS Physician Assistant License
1–2 years of Orthopedic Surgery experience preferred
Experience with EPIC/EMR
Strong clinical, diagnostic, and patient-care skills
Team-oriented with excellent communication skills
Bilingual a plus
Compassionate, patient-centered approach
