I’m a disabled man who can’t do anything for myself physically. I’m paralyzed from the chest down. I’m looking to hire a live-in weekend home attendant, someone who can come in on Fridays at 1 PM and do a live-in until Sunday nights at midnight for a salary of $710 weekly. I had posted this ad back in September and hired someone but it didn't work out. If you responded then, feel free to respond again. No experience is required.
Duties include (but are not limited to) getting me washed up, getting me dressed, transferring me in and out of the wheelchair with a ceiling lift (which I would show you how to use), cooking for me, feeding me, assisting with my urinary care, taking care of my laundry, stretching my arms + legs, turning me and providing massage.
I live in a house in Flushing, Queens with family but I do not involve them in my personal care.
I would prefer an attendant who is:
• Quiet
• attentive
• punctual
• a willing follower of instructions
• a careful listener of instructions
• focused on my needs when they are here
• bright
• compassionate
• able to be physically active and focused when there is work to be done
• comfortable with late or long hours
• clean & neat regarding her surroundings
• willing to talk & listen regarding problem-solving
• easy to get along with
