WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
We are looking for:
- Fluent English speakers (american accent, any dialect).
- Good conversationalists.
- People with access to high-quality microphones.
It is possible to join even if you don't fulfill all above conditions, however you may not be eligible for full compensation of $16/h.
Please also note, this gig is ONLY available for those located in the US. It is not possible to join from outside of the US.
HOW TO GET STARTED.
No need to contact us to get started. Just follow the steps below.
Here is a step-to-step guide on how to get started with oto.
1. Sign up on https://app.oto.earth/
2. Join the next available session (check that the session is in your country)
3. Chat with the other user for 15 minutes.
4. Send your feedback review.
You can join as many times as you want in the duration of the session.

WHAT IS OUR PLATFORM ABOUT?
Through our platform - https://app.oto.earth/ - users are able to earn money from conversing with others online.
At the current moment, the event is held a few times a week for the US. To check when the next session is held, please check "Upcoming Sessions".
We record the conversations with the purpose of developing and training voice AI. This is also why we can compensate users.
Please only join if you are comfortable with your voice and conversation being used for AI.
When the next session becomes available, you can join it by clicking "Join room". You will be paired randomly with another user and the conversation will last 15 minutes.
Certain days will have specific topics to talk about, whilst any topic is allowed on other days.
After the session, both you and your conversation partner have to submit a feedback review. Your rank and your hourly wage are based on the reviews from other users. Please review others honestly and fairly.
The sessions usually lasts 1-2 hours (please check time on each event). You can join as many voice chatrooms as you would like during the duration of the session.
HOW TO EARN MONEY WITH OTO.
➝ About Rank
Your hourly wage depends on your rank. Your rank is based on the average reviews of all past sessions you have participated in.
There are three ranks - bronze, silver and gold. The base compensation is $8/h and you will be able to earn bonuses based on your rank.
The rank you receive is based on other users' reviews of your conversation.
There are 2 types of bonuses that you get ranked on - conversation engagement & audio quality.
That means if you put in effort to engage in good conversation, and use a good quality microphone, you will have high chances of earning the gold-rank bonus.
US base pay: $8/hour
Bronze: 0% extra of base pay.
Silver: 25% extra of base pay.
Gold: 50% extra of base pay.
If you are ranked 'Gold' on both engagement and audio quality, you will be able to earn $16/h ($8 base + 50% base + 50% base = $16).
Please note that during your first 8 sessions, you will be in the 'Evaluation phase'. During this phase, you will be compensated $4/h. Only after these 8 sessions, will you be assigned your rank and be able to earn more.
➝ Automatic Payout via. PayPal
After each session, we manually review all conversations. This can take time, so please be patient. Once all sessions are reviewed, you will receive your compensation on the PayPal account linked to your account email.
To change the email you receive payment on, click "Payout" on the left side menu > "Edit".
As we currently only use PayPal, it is your own responsibility to set up a PayPal account to receive your compensation.
We do not take responsibility for matters regarding your PayPal account, such as not being able to make a PayPal account or linking the wrong email.
However, since we are still developing our platform, we are open to ideas and suggestions regarding alternatives.
➝ Invite a friend (referral bonus)
You will be able to earn a referral bonus of $5 by inviting a friend through a referral code. The users who use your referral code must reach 'Gold rank' in order for the referral bonus to be valid. You must also have 'Gold rank' to be eligible for the referral bonus.
(The referral bonus is only eligible to those located in the US.)

➝ Points to be cautious of.
✕ Not finishing all 15 minutes of the session: If you leave the chat room before all 15 minutes have passed, you will be subject to earning less or no compensation.
✕ Joining a session outside of your country: If you join a session outside of your country, you will be subject to not receiving compensation and potentially being blocked from joining future sessions (in any country).
This is to avoid delay in conversation, when users are located too far away from each other, in which the data will be unusable for our purposes.

We have made it our mission to collect natural conversation data to develop the next-generation AI. For that reason, we created our platform, where we regularly hold sessions where users can use their voice to chat and get paid for it. The conversations get recorded and it will be used to develop voice AI.
