CulEpi, an exciting start-up media platform for the Culinary / Hospitality industry is seeking several interns with Culinary / Hospitality experience and a passion for writing!

CulEpi was founded by a best-selling author who grew up in the food biz. We're doing something revolutionary that's never been done before - devoting a publishing platform to the Voices of the Industry - and interns will have the opportunity to participate in a meaningful and creative way! Interns will learn about writing, editing, conducting interviews, networking, media, marketing, and public relations, they will attend cool industry events representing CulEpi, and regularly publish by-lined articles.

Time commitment is 20 hours per week: 10 hours working from home and totally flexible, the other 10 hours are done in two 5-hour shifts at the office and also somewhat flexible. Desired commitment is three to six months. A Monthly MetroCard is given to all interns and we provide lunch during shifts, free passes to cool events, and lots of goodies!

Interns will have the opportunity to:

-- Get published on CulEpi
-- Assist in editing articles
-- Copy-write and proofread
-- Attend events representing CulEpi
-- Contribute social media postings on FB and IG
-- Research and fact-check
-- Interview industry professionals
-- Review images and write catchy captions
-- Craft professional emails
-- Publish in a WordPress format
-- Hone their skills in detail-oriented data collection
-- Work closely with the Publisher | Editor-in-Chief

Skills Set:

-- Experience working in hospitality in any capacity - BOH or FOH, restaurant, hotel, bakery, coffee, etc. etc.
-- Culinary school students and grads a huge +
-- Creative with excellent verbal and writing skills
-- Ability to interact professionally with high-level industry professionals by email, phone and in person
-- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Excel, ability to learn WordPress
-- Multi-tasking
-- Self-motivated
-- Outgoing personality
-- Must own a laptop
-- Have tons of fun while seriously getting stuff done!

Interns will be working at the Founder | Editor-in-Chief's home office, so while the work is serious, the environment and attire is casual. The home office is located in Spanish Harlem, in a walk-up building (4 flights of stairs!). We're close to the 116th Street stop on the 6 train and the 2-3 trains, the M116, M101, and M102 bus lines, as well as the M15 Express Bus, and the 125th Street stop on the 4-5 trains.
