Smart Writer With Product Category Expertise: $25/hour (anywhere)

compensation: $25/hour starting
employment type: part-time

Please note: This is a remote job and you can work from anywhere, at any time of day!

Hi, we are a Los Angeles-based software & media company. A brief overview: https://wiki.ezvid.com/about_us

We are currently looking for smart people to help us write pages like this:

https://wiki.ezvid.com/best-radiator-stop-leaks
https://wiki.ezvid.com/best-electric-hoists
https://wiki.ezvid.com/best-screw-extractor-sets

To do this, you'll need sharp research skills, a computer with a fast internet connection, and general internet savvy… and right now we are specifically looking for contributors with strong expertise in one of these categories:

https://wiki.ezvid.com/categories/automotive-accessories
https://wiki.ezvid.com/categories/bike-scooter
https://wiki.ezvid.com/categories/camping

This is a challenging position because not only do we have extremely specific requirements for your writing style, but you need to have real expertise in one or more of these categories.

If you are a general "content writer" with no particular expertise in these subject matters, please do not apply to this position - the project will not work out for you long-term.

Other good stuff:

- You must be a native English speaker, or very close to one. Our requirements for language usage are exceptionally detailed and complicated, and basically impossible if English is a language you learned late in life.
- We're paying $25/hour to start, with raises possible over time if your work is both fast & high quality.
- You'll be tracking your own time, but the contributors who stay with us long-term will be those who can get a lot done, pretty quickly.
- You'll get started with a 80-page google doc, which will be your directions -- the project is complicated and has lots of rules!
- Be prepared for rejection. Your first 5 to 10 submissions will almost certainly be rejected by our editors and returned to you with requests for fixes.
- You'll need to be logged into Slack (a messaging app), whenever you are working
- You can work from anywhere.
- We'd like you to commit to at least 10 to 15 hours per week to start, but this is a flexible remote position where you can work a lot if you want, or disappear for a couple weeks if you want, also.
- We pay by paypal, every Friday, without fail. Paypal won't charge you any fees to receive.
- For now, you will track your own hours on the "honor system" in a spreadsheet. Your first batch of hours are limited to 10, at which point we need to assess how much progress you've made.

To apply, please reply to this posting with the following things attached or linked:

1) Some kind of resume, just to show that you are a real person.
2) A writing sample of your original, non-fiction work, showing research skills and very good prose.
3) As much proof as you can provide about expertise in one of the subjects listed above. We will be testing your expertise extensively in your interview!
4) An email address we can share a slack invite with -- this is how we will be conducting interviews. Note that when you reply to a craigslist posting, your email address is usually not included in the reply, so you actually will need to include your email address in the body of the reply, itself.

Thanks!
