With nearly two million followers and even bigger reach, Anti-Media is at the forefront of the emerging independent media. We've even had the honor of being included in a source cited by a widely debunked Washington Post article that attempted to discredit the growing movement.
Our organization is comprised of passionate, outspoken journalists and activists who, as a foundational premise, reject the current paradigm of corporatism, exploitation, injustice, and systemic violence. And we're looking for new voices as the mainstream, corporate media eats itself alive.
AM is seeking to hire journalists for several beats, including:
Health - examples of stories include covering FDA actions, new research/studies, factory farming, etc.
Police accountability - examples include police brutality, civil asset forfeiture, police unions, etc.
Congress - Covering new legislation introduced in Washington, committee hearings/decisions, and interactions of the White House with Congress (such as introducing legislation, etc)
Immigration - examples include recent developments from the Trump administration, ICE actions, refugee-related issues, etc.
Candidates must have a commitment to reporting meticulously and truthfully above all other responsibilities.
Once hired, journalists will be responsible for three articles per week (contract work) between roughly 500 and 1000 words (more in-depth investigative reporting skills are also highly desired as we grow our operation). Applicants will ideally have some experience in journalism, whether it is prior college study or in the field (a lack of experience is not necessarily a deal breaker, especially if you possess the rest of the skill set). They should also have impeccable research skills to be applied scouring the web for new reports, studies, proposed legislation, and deciphering government documents, as well as cultivating contacts and sources for specific beats (we'll help you get started). Grammar should be very good or great.
Payment is on a per article basis with possibilities for additional ad revenue.
If you look at what's going on in the world today, know something is deeply wrong, and want to use your voice to educate and mobilize against humanity's current trajectory, we're looking for you! Applicants should be advised we do not support any politicians (no, not even Sanders, Stein, or Johnson), nor do we share their ideological viewpoints.
Though Anti-Media is a non-ideological organization at its core, most of our team leans toward the symbol featured in our logo (google it :) )
Please provide a resume detailing your previous journalism and/or research/writing experience, as well as a cover letter explaining what you can add to Anti-Media. Email applications via CL email relay.
