Who We Are: Tag The Flag is a multi-media brand dedicated to uniting our country and making Americans smarter. We post user-generated pictures of the American Flag to bring our country together and are home to America's only nonpartisan newsletter.
The Problem & Our Solution: We couldn't find an unbiased news source, so we created our own, and called it "America's Newsletter™". Every morning tens-of-thousands of subscribers scroll through "every view of the Red, White, and Blue" in order to get ready for the day ahead. Mixed together with a little history and trivia, we believe it's all a part of a balanced media diet that lifts people out of their echo-chambers, broadens perspectives, and leads to less angst, anger, and divisiveness.
It seems to be working: Our start-up is officially less than a year old, but our vision of bringing our country together and delivering nonpartisan news seems to be resonating with people not only in the United States but all over the world. In total, we have over 200,000 subscribers across all platforms, which we believe illustrates the demand for no-nonsense news and unity within our country.
The Next Level: Our growth over the past year has been amazing, but we're looking to take our brand to the next level, which is where you come in.
Who We're Looking For: Tag The Flag is looking for young writers who are sick as we are of everyone fighting all the time, and fed up with the overall divisive feeling in our country right now. We're looking for someone who is motived by the idea of making even just one person feel more positive about our country through writing and content creation.
The Role: If you feel strongly about bringing our country together then this role is perfect for you. In it, you will contribute short articles to Tag The Flag's new editorial section, "Salute" where we will focus on undercovered good news happening in our country. We believe that saluting the uplifting people, stories, and news in our country will help us deliver on our vision of bringing Americans together and giving our readers a more positive outlook on our future.
Final Thoughts: This is not a paid position, but we believe it's a chance to give back to our country when it needs it the most. Your work will be promoted on our website, newsletter, and social media accounts and serve as excellent material to help start or supplement a portfolio. If done correctly, we will also proudly supply any recommendations for future jobs. This is a chance for you to get your name out there and be part of building an editorial strategy from the ground up.
Requirements: Enthusiasm for innovative online media and social journalism, the ability to correctly quote sources of information and to quickly review articles, interest in digital media, excellent English language/writing skills, and love for your country.
Workplace: Everywhere. This is a remote role that can be done from anywhere
Hours: Flexible. Writers can choose their own working hours.
