1 room available in awesome 3 bedroom Upper West Side apartment - near the Museum of Natural History. The neighborhood is great plus it's only a block from Central Park. It's not an elevator building but it's only 1 flight of stairs up to the apartment and there's an IN UNIT Washer and Dryer! (Two sets of photos of the same room are attached - the white configuration is older but the roommate moving out hadn't had time to straighten up).

Currently one of the three bedrooms is opening up on 7/1; rent for the available room is $1250/month plus utilities. The current lease ends on 9/1/2024. I am planning to resign the lease and would love to find someone looking for longer term but can't confirm the room rate until I have the new paperwork from the management company (in the past there's been minimal change to rent when I've resigned). No firm commitment required for that though, I’ve done month-to-month successfully in the past!

As mentioned it's a 3 bedroom - the $1,250 room available is one of the outer rooms in the apartment; it has 2 large windows with the fire-escape coming off one of the windows. It also has a built in closet and gets great lighting. Currently the room has a full bed but past roommates have had queen beds. Both easily fit - plus lots of room for additional furniture. All three bedrooms are large by New York standards and there's less shared space though the kitchen is a really good size and the bathroom is large (the living room area is small-ish though not non-existent).

Other apartment amenities include: In unit washer/dryer (it bears a double mention), dishwasher, wine fridge (currently being used as a tv stand), fridge, stove/oven, and microwave. Also no pets allowed in the apt - landlord rules.

A bit about me: I'm in my early 30s but have lived with roommates of all ages and genders in the past. I work a typical 9-5, in office 4 days a week and am out of the apartment a decent amount. Looking for similar.

NOTE: The other room in the apartment is an internal room + the prior tenants installed french doors. That roommate is moving out on August 1st. I am considering opening the second room up as a living room/flexible working space and increasing the rent on the other external room to ~$1,750/month. If you see the room also posted at that rate, it's not a scam, it's just a separate configuration that I'm considering.
