Providing our customers with a unique shopping experience is our top priority. The Store Associate will be responsible for creating and enhancing our customer experience by demonstrating a "customer first" and “in-service” mindset to all visitors. They are the initial brand ambassador, responsible for generating sales by proactively engaging and connecting with our customers.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
•Creates an elevated, upbeat, welcoming experience for customers by being accessible at all times.
•Drives and increases sales by connecting with customers and asking open-ended questions to assess needs and make relevant merchandise suggestions.
•Strengthens our presence in the community by encouraging customers to engage with the brand through our social networking sites and email list.
•Educates customers on brand history, products, offers, promotions, and events.
•Speaks with knowledge and confidence to customers about materials, styles, fit, fabrics, price and trends in the outdoor and fashion industry.
•Maintains the cleanliness and organization of the sales floor, fitting rooms, window displays and cash-wrap areas to meet brand standards and merchandising guidelines at all times.
•Processes customer transactions efficiently with knowledge of store policies and excellent point-of-sale/cash-handling accuracy.
•Responsible for answering, returning, or forwarding phone calls/emails/voicemails daily; including notifying customers promptly in regards to restocked product and special orders.
•Contributes to a positive working environment by being social, approachable, joyful, respectful, responsible, and team oriented.
•Ability to effectively work with our different internal teams and upper management, communicating all special order requests, customer concerns, product issues, or sales/event opportunities to the proper team member.
•Self-motivated and can work efficiently without direct constant supervision, taking initiative in pursuing additional store projects of interest.
•Is proactive in ongoing education regarding the company, monthly reports, stocked 3rd party brands, and the outdoor and fashion industries.
•Provides support to fellow employees through sharing of knowledge, helping to complete tasks and/or assisting in customer interactions.
•Executes all operational processes effectively and efficiently including: shipment processing, backstocking, replenishment, inventory counts, loss prevention, and cash handling.
•Ensures all back of house areas are neat, clean and organized at all times.
•Previous experience in retail and cash handling preferred
•Ability to multitask and exercise good judgment when doing so
•Strong organization and communication skills
•Excellent time management and prioritization skills
•Passion for the outdoors
•Interest in apparel fashion and trends
•Must be available a minimum of 16 hours a week, including weekends (full-time positions currently available)
•Ability to work during morning and evening retail events as well as occasional holiday hours within given availability
•Ability to participate in group camping trips, off-site training sessions, and/or overnight retreats
•Demonstrates consistent strong customer-focused service on and off the sales floor
•Handle all customer phone calls and emails with equal treatment to store customers
•Communicates effectively with all types of customers and employees
•Ability to receive feedback and take action when appropriate
•Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and meet deadlines on tasks/projects
•Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs and be on feet for multiple hours at a time including stair climbing
