I am available to do 2D construction drawings using AutoCAD (Computer Aided Drafting). Typical drawing sets include floor plans, elevations, sections, details, site plan, etc... Construction drawings are often required by homeowners, contractors, builders or engineers for new homes, renovations or additions. I have 2 architecture-related degrees and I have worked in the architectural profession for more than 10 years - 20 years of combined experience in the building industry (not a licensed architect, but more than a drafting service). I have worked with a variety of construction materials and assemblies and if needed, I can provide design input to create a design style that is aesthetic and functional. Architects typically charge between 5% and 10% of the project's construction cost (renovation or new construction). My rate is $50 per hour, and my fee for construction drawings has been averaging less than a third of that of a licensed architect. If you are a homeowner, and your project is an alteration or renovation that is non-structural (does not alter, change or remove any load-bearing components), or is within a maximum size or volume, my drawings will likely not need to be stamped by a licensed professional (architect or engineer).
