Seeking Experienced Cashier for high-volume Wine & Spirits Store (located inside a MAJOR midtown NYC transit hub).
Evenings APX 2-10pm Wed Thurs Fri
Cashier - You will mostly be greeting & ringing customers behind the cash register, and some basic inventory stocking/cleaning
Apx 24 hrs per week (consistent) with the ability to pick up other shifts on a coverage basis.
Qualifications:
Experience in NYC retail Wine & Liquor stores or high volume coffeeshop
Basic fundamental Wine & Spirits knowledge - red/white wine, popular spirits, packaged cocktails, typical sizes (50mL, 750mL etc)
Ability to operate store, handle cash/card & use Square POS system
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Minimum 1 year experience in a NYC-volume Wine & Spirits retail store or high-volume coffeeshop
Ability/comfortability working independently within our team, & interact with the public confidently (all walks of life)
Excellent communication skills & customer service presence/poise - be cool under pressure
Availability to work shifts Wed, Thursday & Friday evenings (apx 24 hours per week) - MUST be available then
Ability to lift 30 pounds (wine cases)
Fundamental wine & spirits knowledge (enough to navigate the store and assist basic customer inquiries)

Job Duties:
Providing exceptional customer service to customers
Provide fast & accurate changemaking at the register
Answer questions about wine & spirits or delegate to the team to assist guest selection
Maintaining orderliness & efficiency at the register… speedy & no cash mistakes!
Be street smart.. Vigilant against shoplifters, vagrants, “hustling” customers etc.
Basic stocking shelves, moving wine cases, sweeping/vacuuming/dusting as needed
Work within our existing 3-person team too!
Helpful skills:
Familiarity with Square Retail POS system
Wine skills certification/knowledge
Desire for ultra-stable, well-paid part-time job
Pay: $23/hour
