Hey NYC,
Over the past few years I have performed in a few projects and am in the midst of finishing up some touring in the coming months. If you are interested in hearing some of my previous studio material or reading some press reach out.
I have some great collaborators up and down the east coast including in nyc, but am looking to start something with musicians in their 20s / 30s to form a consistent lineup of folks with similar goals.
I want to start a group that is made up of kind caring collaborators who want to make art a huge part of their life.
Really looking for some good people to surround myself.
Would love to find band members who want to geek out on gear, go see good films, and build strong effective creative relationships.
As a songwriter, I am not looking to micromanage a band or have it be a vanity solo project with a revolving door of musicians.
I am looking to make a genuinely collaborative vibe, with folks who generally like the songs I tend to write as a foundation.
It would be great if you have experience functioning in a project that is active on social media, gigs a lot, and is able to communicate within a band setting in a professional manner.
This includes working with venues, videographers, and other bands in the community putting together cool bills.
I am also super open to the vibe the project takes as you will in my list of influences. I am most experienced in the indie / alternative rock genre but am open.
My primary instrument is guitar & vocals.
As of now, I am looking for a great rhythm section
To have a drummer and bassist that are comfortable playing indie rock classic vibes like Death Cab for Cutie, Frightened Rabbit, Minus The Bear, or Interpol would be awesome but I would also love to find a pair who can play some heavier more technical material like The Mars Volta, Circa Survive, or even Peter Gabriel. Ideally you have studio experience and no problem playing to a click.
After that another Guitarist & Keys would be next.
Having experience with a small home studio rig for sharing ideas outside of the just the practice space would also be great.
I would also love to get any multi instrumentalists, strings, or brass involved.
Coming from the diy world, I have some connections throughout the country for touring and also have a schedule that allows a few week long tours throughout the year.
Initial goal would to be record an EP and start performing locally and some east coast weekender tours.
Here are a ton of influences from all over the decades and scenes.
Early 2000s nyc indie rock vibes - The National, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Interpol, etc etc
