Rhodes suitcase piano mk 2 - $3,000 (Lower East Side)

Up for sale is an ‘83 suitcase. It was just voiced,tuned,keys levelled,one pickup replaced,one tine replaced,disassembled and internals vacuumed. New felt on the sustain dowel. Cons: two audience side speakers aren’t present and will have to be replaced for the amp to function. There are two tears in the tolex on the suitcase rear(see pics). Pros, the preamp works,and could be powered by an aftermarket power supply,i.e. avion studios hpjanus or v.v., both in the $175 range.
The piano is currently playable via the 1/4 inch accessory out,passively,just like a stage model,bypassing the preamp. The piano comes with the original 5 pin connector cable,power cord,amp,and suitcase lid. The keys are in excellent cosmetic condition,and there isn’t a single broken key pin, action is nice compared to a sluggish mk 1,and it’s voiced on the barky side. This was the last iteration ever of the original Rhodes production,namely the mk 2 era,and the all black namerail is exclusive to that model year,for what it’s worth, for any Rhodes nerds out there. The amp is just being used for the functionality of the sustain pedal. If the new owner goes the route of a power supply or just doesn’t have the necessity for the active preamp, it works great on a double braced x stand with an external sustain pedal. Or if you’re a completionist,replace the missing speakers with aftermarket,etc. If you’re debating going the route of the former,and want to forego the amp, I'll knock $500 off the asking price.
