This is one of the coolest looking Japanese teles I’ve played, it sounds fantastic too!
The TL-52 D/AH was a limited run of 100 based on the TL52-70 with a foto-flame neck finish. Of all the foto-flame guitars Fender Japan made, I think the flame neck with natural body was the best looking combination.
Lightweight ash body (vintage natural finish), 7.25” radius maple neck with the foto flame veneer, vintage tuners, TL-Vintage pickups. All original with the exception of the tone pot (replaced with a 250k CTS).
Good condition. Freshly set up, comes with a gigbag (like new condition). 7lbs 7oz on my scale.
Wear (more pictures available on request, descriptions are to the best of my ability):
- General cosmetic wear from use (hairline finish marks marks, small dents/dings, scratches, pick wear on the pickguard)
- 2 ~2cm dents on the body, bass side lower bout
- “Blues burn” on the headstock (I think this was done for the look, the guitar has zero cigarette smell)
- The Made in Japan decal on the neck has been scratched out for whatever reason
- Some light corrosion on the metal hardware (tuners, neck plate, control plate, knobs, screws etc)
- Hairline marks on back of the headstock, 3/7/12/17th frets
