We are a visual display company looking to hire a welder fabricator who is a skilled professional who uses welding techniques and metalworking skills to create, assemble, and repair structures, equipment, and products from raw materials according to blueprints and engineering drawings. This role combines the specialized skill of welding with the broader process of fabrication, which includes cutting, shaping, experience in TIG and MIG welding and bracing. Must also have experience with materials, such as steel, aluminum, stainless steel, plywood, plastic, metal fabrication, high-end veneer work and fitting metal components.
Key Responsibilities
• Reading and Interpreting Blueprints: Analyzing technical drawings, sketches, and specifications to determine project requirements, materials needed, and the sequence of welding and fabrication assignments.
• Material Preparation: Measuring, marking, cutting, and shaping metal pieces using a variety of tools, such as plasma cutters, saws, shears, and grinders.
• Fabrication and Assembly: Operating fabrication machinery (e.g., press brakes, rollers) and using hand tools to fit and assemble components together, often by aligning parts with calipers and rulers and clamping them for stability.
• Welding: Joining metal components using various welding techniques, including MIG, TIG, stick, and flux-cored welding, in different positions (flat, vertical, overhead).
• Quality Control: Inspecting completed welds and fabricated parts to ensure they meet quality standards, specifications, and safety compliance, often performing simple tests to verify strength and tolerance.
• Maintenance and Safety: Maintaining a clean and safe work area, ensuring equipment is in good working condition, and adhering to strict safety guidelines and procedures, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Troubleshooting and Repair: Repairing damaged machinery or components by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, or welding new parts in place.
