We are a visual display company looking to hire an Acrylic Fabricator who specializes in the precise cutting, shaping, assembly, and finishing of acrylic and other plastic materials to create customized products such as displays, signage, and enclosures. This role requires technical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work from blueprints or technical drawings.
Key Responsibilities
• Reading and Interpreting Designs: Reviewing blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, or CAD layouts to determine product specifications and design requirements.
• Material Preparation: Selecting, measuring, marking cutting lines, and preparing acrylic sheets and other materials for fabrication.
• Cutting and Shaping: Operating a variety of tools and machinery, including saws, laser cutters, CNC routers, drill presses, and hand tools, to cut and shape materials to exact specifications.
• Assembly and Bonding: Assembling parts into subassemblies and complete products using specialized bonding techniques such as solvent welding, adhesives, or mechanical fasteners (screws, rivets, etc.).
• Finishing: Performing finishing work on products, which may involve filing, grinding, deburring, sanding, hand buffing, or flame/diamond polishing edges to ensure a high-quality finish.
• Quality Control: Inspecting finished products for dimensional accuracy, surface quality, and overall conformance to customer specifications and quality standards.
• Maintenance and Safety: Maintaining a clean and organized workspace, ensuring proper maintenance of equipment and machinery, and adhering to all health and safety protocols.
• Collaboration: Working with designers, engineers, and other production team members to troubleshoot issues and meet production deadlines.
• Required Skills & Qualifications: Previous production experience with plastic/acrylic materials is a must. Operate hand tools and equipment such as buffers and sanders to finish acrylic parts to customer specifications. Cut acrylic parts using hand tools such as band saws and routers. Use measuring tools to check contour of parts after cutting.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail and precision craftsmanship. Strong manual dexterity and coordination. Problem-solving abilities and a focus on quality control. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment. Time management and the ability to meet production deadlines. Installation experience required and mandatory. Carpentry and/or woodworking experience is a plus.
