INTERPRETER SERVICES. LEARN SPANISH WITH NATIVE INT'L TUTOR (Midtown East)

Sutton Place near 59 St
offered virtually
PROFESSIONAL INTERPRETATION SERVICES. SPANISH LESSONS PLUS ONTOLOGICAL COACHING.

Professional interpretation services online—legal, medical, depositions, etc.

I have been teaching Spanish to Americans, Australians and Europeans for over fifteen years. I offer one-on-one tutoring. Originally from Spain, I have lived in eight countries, in Latin America, North America and Europe and travelled the world extensively. I am currently living in Buenos Aires, Argentina. I am fully bilingual in Spanish/ English, with vast knowledge of both languages' grammar, syntax and semantics, as I was educated in the UK and lived in New York for many years where I worked in International Investments. Languages have always been one of my main interests (I speak five) so I decided to switch careers and do what I truly enjoy. I can teach Castilian (which is spoken in Spain), neutral Spanish (spoken in most of Latin America) and Argentine Spanish or River Plate Spanish (spoken in Argentina and Uruguay).

If you already speak Spanish and wish to improve your skills or polish it up; if you are a high school/college student, needing help with Spanish I, II, III or IV; if you are looking to learn financial Spanish for work purposes; or if you’d like to command more cultivated Spanish to be able to speak in all situations in a proper manner, then I am the teacher for you,. If you are looking for entertaining classes in which learning the language goes hand in hand with learning the culture and what it represents; then you will enjoy my classes. Because I have been bilingual most of my life, I realized long ago that there are actually more similarities between both languages than differences and I have developed my own methodology using your knowledge of English to simplify and help you understand Spanish and how it works.

Classes are online only via Google Meet.

Rate: $25/hour via Western Union (very easy online payment) for lessons. Significant discounts for groups of up to 4 persons.

Different rate for interpretation services.

I am also experienced in ontological coaching. In ontological coaching, the belief is that all human beings on earth have three domains in common – LANGUAGE, EMOTIONS, and BODY. The ontological approach emphasizes that for sustainable change outcomes, all three domains of an individual must be integrated.

TESTIMONIALS FROM STUDENTS

A truly superb teacher, Alonso’s instruction focuses on real fluency in Spanish and the results are immediately visible.
My wife and I have been students of his for almost one year and we have gone from barely conversational to holding complex discussions within this time.
Alonso possesses the kindest, thoughtful, and warm disposition and his lessons are always highlights of our weeks.
Every student of Alonso is a friend he just hasn’t met yet, and we strongly recommend his services to anyone looking for excellent and thorough instruction in Spanish.

Alonso has been a wonderful Spanish teacher for me for several years, and I can say unequivocally that he is one of the very best teachers I have ever had – in any subject and at any level! He is a native speaker, and his knowledge of both Spanish and English is encyclopedic. He is also warm, patient, encouraging, friendly, and very witty, so meetings are both fun and very productive. If you have seen the beer commercial for the “most interesting man in the world”… Alonso is my nominee! I recommend him most enthusiastically.

I’ve had weekly Spanish lessons with Alonso for two and a half years. I began with intermediate conversational skills and have progressed to an advanced level. Alonso has native language skills in English and Spanish and native or near native in French and Portuguese as well. He is a cosmopolitan man having traveled extensively and lived in Europe, the United States and South America, acquiring his multilingualism along the way. In addition to his career in international business, he has worked as an interpreter and translator as well as a language teacher. He is extremely knowledgeable about grammar and sociolinguistics (how languages are used socially). I enjoy talking with him about many subjects including language, culture, philosophy, politics and lifestyle. He respects my time, as I do his, and we rarely miss a session. If you are looking for an astute and experienced Spanish tutor who will adapt to your learning style and preferences, Alonso is an excellent choice. I certainly recommend Alonso as evidenced by the fact that I’m still meeting weekly with him after 2 ½ years.

I've had many Spanish teachers and I can say that Alonso is one of the best. In addition to speaking correct Spanish and English, he has an excellent grasp of history and culture of Spain and Latin America. He keeps up with politics and current events, so you can discuss anything with him. In addition, he is always punctual with his classes and flexible if you need to change the schedule. He isn't afraid to correct pronunciation or grammar and works to make sure you learn to speak with confidence and correctly. He makes classes fun and tailors them to your needs and level. Rest assured, he will help you to become fluent and confident as quickly as possible.

I highly recommend Alonso as a Spanish teacher/tutor. He is thoroughly knowledgeable of Spanish and English grammar and vocabulary and so can explain both clearly. He is encouraging and patient. He makes learning easy and fun, a sense of humor being one of the many attributes that make him an ideal teacher. Hire him and you will not regret it.

Alonso has been my Spanish tutor for about 2 years. He is a native Spanish speaker and is fluent in English having spent many years living in the US. He is currently located in Buenos Aires, and he and I have communicated by Skype and/or Google Meet for a one-hour lesson once a week. He has helped me with grammar, reading and speaking the language. Alonso prefers to teach his classes completely in Spanish but will always revert to fluent English when needed to clarify a point of grammar or a translation. I always found his explanations to be clear and helpful. I found him to be a very patient teacher with a wonderful sense of humor and always punctual. Our classes were mostly serious but always interspersed with periods of laughter and good humor. I've enjoyed our lessons together and learned a lot.

I have been studying Spanish with Alonso for more than two
years. Before I began with Alonso I had taken some adult classes
in my community, but my skills in grammar, pronunciation and
vocabulary were not strong. My lessons with him began with some
standard learning materials and gradually progressed to a mix of oral
conversations and readings in Spanish literature and Spanish language
news articles. Alonso has always been patient, upbeat and helpful. He
is fluent in Spanish, English, French and Portuguese, having lived in
Argentina, Spain, Brazil, Switzerland, England, France, Ecuador and America. I highly
recommend him.
