Offering drum lessons for students of all ages and all experience levels from my recently renovated teaching space — Manhattan Drum Studios in The Music Building (8th Ave between 38th and 39th). The space is fitted with sound treatment, mellow but bright lighting and is wired for live sound — you and I both wear wired, sound isolating headphones connected to my recording interface so that we can protect our hearing while playing and listening to music, and we won’t have to shout over the volume of the drums. If you can’t make it in to the teaching space, I also offer virtual lesson via Zoom.
A little about me:
I have been teaching professionally for over 22 years — 15 of them here in New York City. I hold degrees in Jazz Studies and Communications from Rutgers University. I’ve been lucky enough to see a lot of the world playing with some great musicians on tour. I still currently tour with a few bands including We Are Scientists and Sean McVerry. You can often catch me playing around New York City with a number of different artists that range in style from folk to psych-jazz-rock-hipster-noise kinda stuff. As a writer for Modern Drummer Magazine I contributed over 20 pieces to the publication including profiles, columns, analyses and reviews. I love cinema, hot dogs, a good martini and the Green Bay Packers (but not in an obnoxious way I promise).
Offering new students a discount rate — $60/hour for the first four sessions.
Feel free to reach me (Keith) by email for any inquiries about pricing, location, or general questions about me and or my program.
