Experience:
I have been teaching Spanish in New York since 2003. One-on-one tutoring for adults of all levels in NYC homes, universities, schools, companies, and organizations. I have prepared students for exams. I have also worked with the Department of State preparing NYC-based consuls for a Spanish language certification in DC (they needed to show proficiency in Spanish from Mexico). At this moment, I am working mostly tutoring some Columbia University faculty members in the History Department.
I also worked several years for the Wall Street Journal / Dow Jones & Company in the World Financial Center, Lower Manhattan, in different positions, mostly in the software development area, but also Information Technology, translation, and photography.
I have taught more than 1,000 students throughout all these years, I am in contact with some of them. References available upon request.
Lessons can Include:
Conversation, pronunciation, reading, exam preparation, and many practice exercises, available for class-related questions during the week.
Most learning materials provided (PDF). We can also use some AI tools for practicing, but they can’t do everything. When audio is messy, very fast, or full of slang, AI often misses the meaning. With a real teacher, you get clear feedback on your pronunciation, which is very important, as well as help understanding those tricky, natural conversations that software can’t explain well.
Availability & Rates:
Time slots available 7 days a week, morning, afternoon, and evenings, depending on the day of the week.
$20 for a 60 minute lesson / $30 for a 120 minute lesson (online lessons only). RATE VALID FOR 1 OR 2 STUDENTS TAKING THE CLASS TOGETHER. These fees are flexible and negotiable.
Parlo anche italiano a livello intermedio, quindi se la tua lingua madre è l’italiano possiamo lavorare direttamente in spagnolo e italiano senza dover usare sempre l’inglese, ed è più veloce.
