We are seeking a part time or contract attorney to provide legal research and drafting support on active litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have strong research, writing, and analytical skills, with 2 years experience preparing motions in civil litigation. This role is suitable for an attorney who can work independently, meet deadlines, and produce polished work product on a flexible, limited-hour basis.
Draft motions, memoranda of law, replies, oppositions, and related litigation documents
Assist with citation checking and formatting
Revise drafts based on attorney feedback
Communicate status updates and flag legal or factual issues requiring attention
Perform other litigation support tasks as assigned
J.D. from an accredited law school
Active license in New York to practice law
Ability to work independently and manage deadlines
Attention to detail and strong organizational skills
Independent Contractor/ up to 8 hours per week
Flexible scheduling, subject to deadlines and case needs
Compensation commensurate with experience

This position may be remote or hybrid, depending on the needs of the firm or legal team. The attorney must maintain confidentiality and comply with all applicable professional responsibility obligations.
If lawyer is inexperienced in the subject and will need substantial ramp-up, then basic research on subject is not included in pay.
