We are seeking a highly skilled Appeals Paralegal to join our growing immigration law practice. Our firm focuses on asylum (affirmative and defensive), marriage-based cases, and VAWA matters, and we are looking for someone experienced in handling complex appellate work related to these areas. We have offices in Brooklyn & Manhattan.
This role focuses on preparing and managing Board of Immigration Appeals (BIA) filings and Federal Court appeals, including motions, briefs, and supporting documentation. If you are detail-oriented, dependable, and passionate about high-quality legal work, we would love to hear from you.
Key Responsibilities:
* Draft and prepare BIA briefs, motions, appeals, and related filings.
* Assist with Federal Court appeal briefs, motions, and record compilations.
* Conduct legal research and review case records, transcripts, and decisions.
* Organize, maintain, and track deadlines for all appeal matters.
* Communicate with attorneys, clients, and courts regarding case status.
* Ensure accuracy, compliance, and timely submission of all filings.
Qualifications:
* Minimum 1 - 2 years of experience in immigration appeals, preferably BIA and/or Federal Court.
* Strong legal writing and research skills.
* Excellent attention to detail and ability to manage strict deadlines.
* Familiarity with EOIR systems, PACER, and Federal Court procedures.
* Ability to work in-office full time (this position is not remote).
* Strong organizational and communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits:
* Salary: $80,000–$100,000 (based on experience).
