Restaurant Maintenance Manager – Position Overview
We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Restaurant Maintenance Manager to oversee the maintenance operations of a high-volume dining establishment. This individual will be responsible for ensuring that all facilities, equipment, and building systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with applicable standards. The role includes both hands-on maintenance duties and the supervision of additional maintenance staff.
Key Responsibilities
Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to maintenance team members, ensuring all tasks are completed accurately, safely, and on schedule. Communicate clearly and professionally with the Chef, General Manager, and other department leaders regarding facility concerns, recommended solutions, and progress updates.
Develop, implement, and maintain a comprehensive preventative maintenance program for all kitchen and building equipment, including meticulous record-keeping of logs and service histories.
Oversee general facility upkeep, including painting, repairs, carpentry, and ensuring the restaurant’s appearance consistently meets operational standards.
Coordinate pest control services and maintain compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation requirements.
Ensure the proper functioning and routine inspection of building systems, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and emergency equipment.
Manage relationships with outside vendors and contractors, including scheduling and supervising specialized service work.
Maintain a safe, organized, and efficient working environment, adhering to all safety protocols and regulatory guidelines.
Preferred Experience / Trade Background:
General understanding of electrical, plumbing, and construction practices.
Prior experience in restaurant, hospitality, or facility maintenance strongly preferred.
Ability to interpret technical diagrams, troubleshoot equipment issues, and prioritize maintenance needs effectively.
Familiarity with commercial kitchen equipment and building mechanical systems is beneficial.
Experience supervising or managing maintenance personnel.
