I bought this knowing it was Native American and sterling but not much else. I've done my homework and I believe it's a handmade artisan Navajo/Diné piece. The person who had it said a friend bought it for her in the 80's on a reservation on a vacation at some kind of NA festival. Didn't know which tribe or what the symbols were or meant. I've found most of them and they all appear to be protective and about blessings, abundance and good luck. I used the magnet test not wanting to damage it with chemicals but it did test silver not base metal. It is not signed unfortunately that I can tell. I'm pressed for time today so only the one pic but will post more soon.
