A dynamic piece of Gerald Thurston's industrial Atomic Age Modernist lighting design, which pre-dates his prolific tenure at Lightolier. This black-enameled brass, double gooseneck floor lamp is in excellent original vintage condition. No notable denting, loss of enamel or other detraction to form & appearance, from base to heads. White interior of cones is clean & without enamel loss. One 3-way switch on stem allows for one, the other, or both heads to illuminate. Gooseneck arms retain total flexibility-without kinks or weakness. Solid & hefty, this is a stable standing lamp. Typical age-commensurate darkening of the brass plating on the base & minor age-commensurate signs of wear are not a detraction. This gorgeous & solid example of industrial-inspired, midcentury Modernist lighting brings versatility of utility & placement to a wide range of design/decor settings; wonderful functional Modernist lighting design.
Fully functional until I cut the off the plug only. Lamp was rewired in early 80s.
