My mom, in addition to being an antique dealer was a self-taught interior decorator. And when it came to our home, this often involved being creative. Case in point - this end table. Mom had a vision for what she wanted, but when she couldn't find the piece of furniture she had in mind, she created it herself, with dad's help. Here she took a simple stool, had dad screw a round wooden tabletop onto the stool's seat, draped it in gorgeous heavy dark green patterned fabric, and finally placed a 30" diameter glass plate atop it to hold the fabric in place. To complete her vision, she put some family photos and her prized Tiffany lamp on top. And that is what I am selling. (Excluding the Tiffany lamp! Haha.)
My mom used to have an antique store on Gramercy Park - Irving Barber Shop Antiques. (Copy and paste into your browser: https://www.dnainfo.com/new-york/20140318/gramercy/rising-rents-shutter-40-year-old-gramercy-antique-shop/) I am selling off those pieces from the store that she brought home after high rents forced her out of business.
