The restaurateur behind La Sirène (SoHo and Upper West Side) and Taureau has made his debut in Midtown this summer with the newest addition to the family: Margaux by La Sirène, an upscale-casual (semi-gastronomique) French restaurant and cocktail bar. What is distinctive about our family of restaurants is that we strive, on the one hand, to embody faithfully the art de vivre of French gastronomy, and on the other hand, to avoid becoming a corporate assembly line, despite the rigors entailed by French dining. The chef owns all of the portfolio restaurants fully and bears all risk; he is an artisan, and seeks fellow artisans with a passion for gourmandise to help bring his vision to life. Here, we are not only a team, but a family.
We are currently seeking a new bartender/server for the team. Please review our criteria, and also have a look at our menus in order to get a sense for the spirit of the restaurant.
Provided you meet the requirements below, please bring your résumé in person (238 Madison Ave) during business hours on any day except Saturdays, preferably during the afternoon lull (2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.).
Requirements:
- Strong interpersonal skills and a passion for sales and hospitality.
- Valid US work authorization.
- Fluency in English.
Nice to haves:
- Previous upscale-casual or higher dining experience, particularly in New York City.
- Previous experience in French restaurants and/or a love of French culture.
- Knowledge of wine.
- Some knowledge of French.
