Looking for a booth assistant for NYCC Saturday and/or Sunday (today and tomorrow)!
I'm the author of a bestselling epic fantasy series of novels called The Ronin Saga. I'm looking for an assistant this weekend to help me behind a large end cap exhibitor table. We have a lot of returning (and new) fans and will need some help managing/organizing the booth, and with sales.
Requirements:
+Must be outgoing / enjoy talking to people aka good social skills
Bonus:
+Love of fantasy
+Love of books
+Enjoy comic conventions
+Have sales experience
Job description: In short, your job will be helping with book sales. This includes keeping people engaged while I'm signing, keeping table organized, working a Square reader (I can show you how to do that, it's super easy), and tallying books sales are all helpful. Sometimes we have a line, so handing a book to me, stacking up "to-sign" books, anything like that is great. The big dragon behind me and I do most of the work, but someone willing to be personable with fans is a must.
Compensation: $100 a day, OR 5% of book sales. Most conventions we sell over 300+ books at $30 a book, so often commission is preferred method.
