Hello Neighbors,
My name is Mike and I am well-established photographer in NYC. I spend a lot of time working with 501c3 organizations to help uplift the voices of those who need amplification. Last year, I worked on a project/film for the DNC that highlighted the plights and desires of everyday Americans - with a strong focus on love and unity. Now, I hope to use my experience and connections to create a series of films and photographs that bring the strength and importance of our immigrant brothers and sisters to the forefront of the conversation.
My goal here is to meet with folks who are here in NYC as immigrants (both documented and undocumented) to interview and photograph them. I hope to show any who will listen just how crucial immigrants are to our society by highlighting their dignity, humanity, and their dreams. Together, we can create a small film and series of portraits that combat the negative narrative around immigration and instead highlight the very real people behind the conversation.
In exchange for your time, I humbly offer those who participate all of your final images we create to use however you'd like.
I understand that in these uncertain times, it is difficult to trust people online. So, if you are interested, I am more than happy to jump on a zoom with anyone who may want to be part of this project. If you would like to join me in creating a positive narrative around immigration, please email me directly. I am happy to address any questions and offer a bit more detail! Please also be sure to check out my credentials and gallery of images on my website: MikePhotographs.com.
