November holds the International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day - where survivors of suicide loss come together to find connection, understanding, and hope through their shared experience. I am attempting to make that happen a day earlier, as I am screening a film through my film festival that was created by a survivor. Kurt Ken Kaminaka lost his son, Chase, to suicide, and then wrote/directed a beautiful piece called "If This Is Goodbye". It is screening this Sunday afternoon at 2:15pm EST in NY at the Producers Club Theatre. There will be a live Q and A conducted by me, that will include Kurt and the actor playing his son in the film. I am offering this as a free screening to anyone who has lost a loved one to suicide. This film can be viewed either online via Vimeo or else in NY in person. If you know anyone that would want to tune in or attend Sunday, message me.
