This 4 Poster SET includes an Original 2 Poster SET for the New York City Ballet 2008 Spring Season featuring the Jerome Robbins Celebration printed in beautiful sepia-tone, as well as 2 other Original New York City Ballet Posters (see pictures). New York City Ballet (often referred to as just City Ballet or by its initials, NYCB) is a ballet company founded in 1933 by choreographer George Balanchine and Lincoln Kirstein with musical director Leon Barzin. The company grew from an earlier troupe known as the Ballet Society. Spring 2008 New York City Ballet celebrates Jerome Robbins, the groundbreaking choreographer and director who transformed American musical theater, and who also made NYCB his artistic home for nearly 40 years.The Jerome Robbins Celebration, which will mark the 90th anniversary of the choreographer's birth in 1918, will take place at the New York State Theater from April 29 through June 29, 2008, and will feature 33 ballets that Robbins created over a span of more than 50 years.
