This is an exhibition poster from the Paris Palais de Tokyo exhibition in the 1990s featuring "Le Post Impressionnism" art. The painting exhibited in the poster is Aristide Maillol's iconic "Woman with a Parasol" from 1890. She stands in a breeze, one hand to her hat in a light pink dress of the late 19th century.
The poster appears to be in pretty good condition, with possibly a slight bit of wear along the edges. It has been rolled up for decades, so if you display it you will definitely want to press it between glass and a hard backing. Approx. 16" x 23" but hard to get a good measurement due to how difficult it is to keep it flat. (In the photos I am using to shelf brackets to hold it down to the floor.)
By the way, if you think my price is a bit high you should see what people are asking for the same poster on some well known auction sites! Hard to find and very collectible!
Mom collected antiques her entire life. She loved going to flea markets and thrift stores in search of hidden treasures. Mom actually used to have an antique store on Gramercy Park. Now that she has passed I am selling off those pieces from the store that she brought home after high rents forced her out of business.
