Halloween has arrived, time to stock up on spooky dolls. This beauty comes with a pair of bloomers, a shirt, and a belt. I believe she was originally some kind of nurse. Her eyes open and close. Check out the detail - she has teeth and a tongue! Head and legs are attached, but her arms were originally packed separately. I'm not sure if the hooks I found to attach the arms actually go with this doll. With her shirt on you don't really notice. Not sure of her age or provenance. She does look old.
What is this doll made of? It seems like she has some kind of enamel skin that is peeling off some kind of white plaster base. Not sure what her hair is made of. Horsehair? Whatever she is made of, she will look spooky as hell hanging from your Halloween door. And you artists out there, I bet you could do wonders with her.
Her clothes have probably not been washed nor ironed in at least half a century, but you know, if they were all clean and pressed she wouldn't really be a ghost doll, would she?
My mom collected antiques her entire life. She loved going to flea markets and thrift stores in search of hidden treasures. Now that she has passed I am selling off her collection.
