This is a rare book titled "Femmes de Lautrec" (Women of Lautrec) by Irene Brin. It was published in Rome in 1954 by Carlo Bestetti-Edizioni D'Arte. Introduction is in French with full color plates printed on rough heavy non-glossy paper. The book originally featured 21 prints of Toulouse-Lautrec's illustrations and is written in French. Unfortunately 2 of the prints have been lost to history. The plates are in good condition and measure about 14" x 9 ½". The book jacket is a little bit worn, which is to be expected from a 70 year old soft paper cover.
The book itself is a soft cover folio. which means all the prints are loose, perfect if you want to frame any of them. It is a must-have for collectors of everything Lautrec and those interested in art history. What makes this book particularly cool is that the prints collected here are not the usual Lautrec prints that we all know and love, but instead a selection of his lesser known drawings.
Mom collected antiques her entire life. She loved going to flea markets and thrift stores in search of hidden treasures. Mom actually used to have an antique store on Gramercy Park. Now that she has passed I am selling off those pieces from the store that she brought home after high rents forced her out of business.
