Vintage postcard set featuring portraits by J.A. Houdon, C.W. Peale, and Gilbert Stuart. This is an almost "Complete" Set of 23 Antique 19th Century Postcards. Almost "complete" in that I can't find any information on how many cards in total were in the original set. The images on the cards appear to be black and white reproductions of famous paintings from the Revolutionary War era.
This set contains the first 23 cards in the series. I know that someone on Etsy is selling an incomplete set of 21 cards for $100(!) which contains a #24 card, so there were at least 24 of them. The condition of these cards varies from good to fair. The cardboard the cards were printed on has softened over the centuries. Some of the cards have slight tears, tiny stains, worn corners. One card has a corner torn off. Very rare!
My mom collected antiques her entire life. She loved going to flea markets and thrift stores in search of hidden treasures. Now that she has passed I am selling off her collection.
