Hakonezaiku hand carved Antique Ivory Chess Set. My uncle was stationed in Okinawa 1946-1950 (approximately) where (I believe) he bought this chess set. There is no date on the pictured letter, but it reads "Kita Shoji Company, LTD., Tokyo, Japan." My aunt gave me this chess set about 20 years ago. As you can see the carrying case is in rough condition but could be copied. The wooden board has wear on it but it is in 99% excellent condition and measures 24" X 24" X 4 1/2" (inches). All the chess pieces are immaculate. They are truly beautiful hand crafted with not a mark on them after 70+ years. I hope you can see the detail of the carving in the attached pictures. View it on a larger screen so that you might see the intricate detail and to read the letter. $95,000.00 USD in cash or certified funds. OBO 2one4-2three6-9two6nine.
