My mother worn this fur coat on December 23rd 1957 to marry my father in Yorkshire England, Great Britain.
She wore it with pride for weddings, christenings and dinner dances with my father on a night out.
My mother was 5 foot 4" tall, and in the UK a 10, bust 34-35, waist 26-27, hips 36-37 which is why I have to part with this gem.
The coat is in mint condition I can not find an defects in the medium brown tone fur. The lining is a heavy duchess satin has no stains. The only repair is the thread which has broken over the years on the lining near the coat hook ( which honestly should never be used for such a heavy item).
The coat is a swing coat with a generous collar, closed with 2 furrier hooks and a self lining tie belt to keep the panels in place. Wide sleeve opening and a fold back cuff for a bracelet sleeve length which was in fashion at the time ( to show your jewelry )
It was custom made so no manufacturers labels. After the WWII many everyday items were rationed for years so items like this were scare and my father went to great lengths to have this made for my mother
General measurements of the garment
Length from the shoulder seam @ Center back = 43"
Shoulder width seam-seam = 12 1/2"
Chest width @ back panel 21"
Bottom panel width @ back panel 31"
Sleeve length from shoulder seam / Armhole to the cuff edge of the sleeve = 24
