This is the catalogue for the superb exhibition held at The Metropolitan Museum of Art in 1984. Published in conjunction with this first major exhibition devoted to the 15-month period in 1888-1889 that Van Gogh worked in Arles, in the south of France. The annotated and profusely illustrated volume presents 152 pieces, including correspondence; a very informative text with hundreds of black and white and color illustrations.
